The ASR 6510 M automated material load/unload system with its vertical design produces floor space savings and superior material management logistics. With the ASR 6510 M, speed and productivity are mathematically predictable and no longer linked to personnel motivation. Preprogrammed commands allow the system to work around the clock with a minimum amount of operator intervention.
The ASR 6510 M automated material load/unload system receives pallets of raw material on the loading platform. This is done with a forklift or suitable material handling device.
The pallet loading elevator automatically retrieves the material shelf as scheduled through the line control computer or CNC control and places the shelf of material into the loading chamber.
A full sheet lifting assembly descends on the top sheet of the stack and lifts one sheet. The thickness of the sheet is checked to ensure that only one sheet was lifted for loading onto the punch press table.
If the detection device senses a double thickness of material it will assume that two sheets are stuck together. The entire edge of the material is flexed up and down to separate the second sheet, and check it again. After confirmation that the material is within allowable tolerance the sheet will be conveyed to the sheet loading area and then on to the machine for processing. The material pick up and separation function repeats if there more than one sheet of material being processed thus minimizing material load time and increasing productivity.
After processing on the machine, the sheet will be moved back towards the load position. The unload clamps, parallel to the loading device, will move toward the sheet. After detection of the sheet, the clamps will close and move the sheet from the machine table and onto the unloading pallet. When the sheet is released the loading device will move the sheet that is in the queue to the machine table. The load function will happen and the next sheet will be lifted and placed in queue for loading.
The next designated shelf will be removed from its storage position and placed in the loading chamber and the first sheet readied for loading.
When the process on the sheet in the machine is completed, the sheet will be moved to the unload pallet and the finished pallet will then be moved to its designated position in the ASR storage system. The next scheduled job of sheets will load into the machine for processing and the operations will continue as described above.
During machine processing, any shelf of material, raw or finished can be moved from within the auto storage system without interruption to the core machine’s functions. If the material for a job schedule is less than four (4) foot square, then the same shelf can be used for loading material from two positions. There has to be one empty shelf in the auto storage system to receive the finished sheets from the machine. There are five (5) shelves available for loading.
