1. Why does my Bend CAD in AP100 not open and tells
me it is not accessible?
Make sure you log on as the administrator to access all items, if
you are in a WinNT environment
2. How do I select more than one flange?
Hold down the CTRL key and select all the parts you need.
3. How do I join 2 Flanges together?
Select the 2 flanges you wish to connect and go to edit and select
“ATTACH."
4. How do I output a part to AP100?
Open AP100US and click the “FLAT TO AP100" button on the tool
bar and it will be transferred automatically
5. How do I output a part to 2D CAD?
Open AP100US and click the “FLAT TO AMPCAD" button on the tool
bar and it will be transferred automatically.
6. How do I uninstall Bend CAD/CAM?
You can uninstall in your add/remove programs section in control
panel. Note: To completely uninstall Bend CAD/CAM you will need to
remove all its components such as the tool editor and SDD server
items, in total you will have 5 items to remove.
7. How can I adjust the bend information after I
have imported?
Double clicking on your bend line opens up a bend line setup window
that allows you to adjust bend info.
8. How does my Auto Tooling work in Bend CAD/CAM?
In your CAM portion of the software there is a tab on the right
hand side for advanced tools. In there you can set your tool library
and use that to find tools for your parts.
9. How to save files into a floppy using SDD
Server…
Insert a blank floppy.
Click 'File' pull down menu then go to 'SDD Save As'.
Once SDD Save window opens, click 'Sever…' on upper left hand
side corner.
Type 'A:' on 'Sever Name' box then click 'OK'.
Highlight 'A:' drive then click 'Save'.
10. Can AMNC controller read files directly from
BendCAD/CAM without going through SDD Server?
No, SDD Server compresses files into its own file format that
machine understand. BendCAD/CAM saves files into [.bmf] format that
machine cannot read.
11. Can a new tool be added in BendCAD/CAM?
Yes, using ToolEditor, tools can be added. They must be in DXF
format in order for ToolEditor to add files. Amada 2D CAD can be also
used to draw a tool and save into DXF format.
12. Can BendCAD/CAM work with any other Amada
software?
Yes, BendCAD/CAM can send files to both Amada 2D CAD and AP100US to
re-program. Then, the files can be brought back to BendCAD/CAM.
BendCAM will also work with Sheetworks for Unfold.
13. What do I do when there is a problem
communicating with machine through SDD Server?
First thing you need to check is the network connection. Check all
the hardware including cables, hubs, NICs and see if they are working
properly. Then, make sure all the systems are network connected. IP
addresses that had been assigned to each machine must be available.
Ping them to check the connections. A dedicated IP address is
recommended for each system.
14. How do I install ToolEditor?
1. Insert the BendCAD/CAM CD then go to 'My Computer' on your
'Desk Top'.
2. Double click to open 'My Computer' and open 'Tools'
folder.
3. Double click 'Setup.exe' to install ToolEditor.
15. What do I do when BendCAD/CAM doesn't print
or partially prints?
BendCAD/CAM uses Windows print settings. If it doesn't print
properly, check if it prints regular documents like Words or Exel.
Visit printer manufacturer's web site and install the latest printer
driver available. In case of the printer is a network printer, talk to
the network administrator to update the driver on printer server.
16. What do I do when BendCAD/CAM will not start
due to the security block error?
Test the parallel port on the computer and see if it is working. If there is a different PC with BendCAD/CAM installed, take the block and try it with second computer. If it works, the problem exists on the first computer. All the other security block problems including password error, contact Amada.
17. What do I do when the new tool just added in
BendCAD/CAM doesn't come up on 'Tool Selection' menu?
After you add the tool using ToolEditor, you need to close and
re-open both BendCAD/CAM and ToolEditor to refresh their Data Base.
18. Is BendCAD/CAM different from BendCAD in
AP100US?
Yes, BendCAD in AP100US does not have CAM portion. There is no
tooling involved and no bending simulation. BendCAD/CAM is more
sophisticated program and it is capable of working with AMNC press
break machine.
19. I am getting the message, “Invalid Key" when
trying to save to the SDD server or when using the post processor in
BendCAD/CAM ?
Another Password is required besides the Password given to start
the BendCAD software, contact Software Support.
